2024 Coffee, Donuts, and Comradery Wrap-Up

By Kevin Irwin - Webmaster

On Saturday, March 2nd, Chapter 1963 held our last Coffee, Donuts, and Comradery for 2024.   Normal monthly meetings will resume on Monday, April 1st, @ 7pm.

Chapter President Tom Johnson announced that the 2024 Ride Calendar is complete and has been published on the website.   There was a discussion about changing the target destination of the  Iron Butt Ride scheduled June 15th.   The original plan of circumnavigating the lakes and traveling through Canada revealed some logistical and legal challenges.  The group decided to revise the target to Nashville, TN.

Tom alerted the group that Bair’s Indian Motorcycle will have demo days on our Kickoff Ride scheduled on May 4th. Provisions will be made to reserve an area in the parking lot for us to assemble for the ride. No worries; it will be a great day! Additionally, Tom shared a new IMRG Chapter Handbook provided by Indian Motorcycle. The officers must review the new Registered Trademark requirements and analyze the new waiver forms.

Webmaster Kevin Irwin provided some information on a few website changes.

Members Only Drop Down Menu:

The 2023 Ride Events were moved to a new drop on the Members Only Section.  The 2024 Calendar and Rider Resources were added to the About Us page.  The Member Profiles page was permanently removed from the website.

The officers have been populating the 2024 Ride Events.   Stay tuned as this gets completed over the next few weeks.

Finally, Kevin provided an update on the status of the waiver signing process. The goal is to reduce the time spent signing waivers before group rides. Indian Motorcycle requires a wet signature on a waiver form at each ride. The process will be streamlined by reducing redundant information collection on ride day. The chapter will collect and store rider, passenger, and emergency contact information. It will be available for ride leaders and sweeps via a printed and electronic report called the Emergency Contact Spreadsheet.

The group discussed this plan and the importance of keeping the process simple and not adding work for officers that only saves minutes on ride day. Having said that, the group recognized the importance of emergency contact information and asked the officers for a standard ICE card and the location to store the information on the motorcycle. This could be the ultimate failsafe to this process.

We will have much to discuss at our meeting on April 1st,  no joke!
